Through this course, you will have the opportunity to learn a range of skills. Particularly navigation and security.
Do you already have some experience in winter mountaineering, winter hillwalking or climbing? Are you over 18 and keen to learn about avalanche avoidance and good practice? This one-day avalanche avoidance course could be perfect for you. Based at Aviemore in the Cairngorms National Park, this course is both classroom and field-based.
Do you have some experience in hillwalking along with a good level of fitness? Would you like to further your winter skills in steeper snow and winter scrambling terrain? This course will equip you with the skills needed to complete more complex routes such as Glencoe and Lochaber. Evening lectures will also re-inforce practical sessions during the day.
Would you like to learn the skills necessary for winter climbing? Are you keen to learn safe and efficient movement over all types of terrain? On this five day course you will cover a range of routes in Scotland along with evening lectures to re-inforce topics covered during the day.
Would you like to learn more about snowcraft, grade I terrain and winter mountain expedition? Have you already completed the summer and winter ML training courses, log book, first aid certificate, winter mountain leader syllabus and home paper? If so, this 5 day course could be a logical progression.
